Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry Named to the RAGA Executive Committee
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) announced today that Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge was elected by her fellow Republican attorneys general to serve as RAGA’s Vice Chairwoman through the 2017 election cycle. This position opened after previous RAGA Vice-Chairman, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, was named RAGA Chairman to replace Luther Strange, who resigned due to his appointment to the United States Senate. Attorney General Rutledge assumes this position immediately.
“As the first Republican and woman attorney general in Arkansas’ history, Attorney General Rutledge’s leadership ability and electoral success will serve her well as RAGA’s Vice Chairwoman,” said Chairman Morrisey. “Vice Chairwoman Rutledge will be an integral part of RAGA’s operation as we continue to build out our candidate recruitment and fundraising operation in preparation for the 30 attorney general races in 2018. General Rutledge has taken on tough issues as Arkansas’ Attorney General and will bring that same commitment and tenacity to RAGA.”
"I am humbled by the confidence of my colleagues to serve as the vice chairwoman of RAGA" said Attorney General Rutledge. "The American people have entrusted us with an enormous responsibility of upholding and enforcing the rule of law and pushing back against unlawful rules and regulations. Our country continues to face many challenges and the 28 Republican attorneys general are going to continue to be on the front lines of solving these important issues. I look forward to working with Chairman Morrisey and all of my colleagues to ensure we continue to elect strong, conservative attorneys general across the country in 2017 and beyond."
In addition, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has been named to the RAGA Executive Committee. “General Landry is a strong conservative leader who has proven himself to be a defender of the constitution and the rule of law,” said Chairman Morrisey. “He will make a great addition to the RAGA Executive Committee.”
