President Harvey Moore to Represent NARCA at Next Debt Collection Dialogue

The Federal Trade Commission will hold its third Debt Collection Dialogue on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Latin American Association. Newly elected President, Harvey Moore will represent NARCA-The National Creditors Bar Association at the event. Prior Debt Collection Dialogues were held in Buffalo, NY and Dallas, TX.

Representatives of state and federal agencies and industry groups in addition to NARCA, will be serving on the panels. The purpose of the Dialogues is to discuss debt collection enforcement actions of the FTC, along with discussing consumer complaints, industry best practices and compliance issues faced by collection attorneys and agencies. 

The first panel discussed enforcement actions, consumer complaints, compliance issues, industry best practices and how regulatory enforcement actions are investigated and pursued.

The second panel, which included then NARCA President, Joann Needleman, discussed debt collection litigation, coordination between state and federal regulators, and the potential costs and effects of federal regulation.
