MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – All branches of Embers Credit Union went out to contribute to their communities on Friday.
This is the fourth year Embers has hosted the event, with this year having more than 140 participants from all Embers locations.
One of the event’s leaders says this is the credit union’s way of connecting with the area.
“Embers has been doing Light Up Communities Day for the last four of the last five years,” said Embers Credit Union Community Engagement Officer Julie Johnson. “We are always trying to be a part of the community and just having a full day to let our staff really embody what our culture is, embody what our values are, really is a terrific way to spend the day.”
Volunteers at Embers repainted Hurley Park, helped Adventure Team 906 with trails, cleaned up the State Fair Grounds and much more.
