Greenville Federal Credit Union plans to complete a $9.5 million campus expansion on Wade Hampton Boulevard.
A 12,000-square-foot administrative building will be constructed next to the credit union’s branch at 1501 Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville. More than 30 employees will work in the new three-story building, which will feature offices, conference rooms and collaborative meeting spaces.
Groundbreaking on the state-of-the-art administrative building designed by SHLTR Architects will take place later this summer. Creative Builders Inc. serves as the project’s developer. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2027.
The campus expansion marks Greenville Federal Credit Union’s second building project this year. The credit union is currently constructing a new branch location on Cedar Lane Road in Berea. The new branch is expected to open in early 2027.
Paul Hughes, president and CEO of Greenville Federal Credit Union, said the credit union’s strong growth over the past 60 years has created a need for expanded space. The credit union currently serves more than 35,000 members across Greenville County and has increased its staff to accommodate this growth.
“With over 105 employees all based in Greenville, we needed to find space that would prioritize the efficiency and collaboration of our growing workforce.” Hughes said.
Last year, Greenville Federal Credit Union hit another growth milestone by surpassing $500 million in assets. The credit union, established in 1968, currently operates four branches in Greenville, Greer and Mauldin. In addition, it has two student-run branches at Greenville Senior High School and Greer High School.
