Our Children, Our Future is the latest local organization to receive a $7,500 donation as Sudbury Credit Union celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.
The credit union is noting its milestone by making 10 donations of $7,500 to local groups and organizations. Our Children Our Future is the fifth group to receive a donation so far this year.
Serving residents of both the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts, the not-for-profit Our Children Our Future works to support the health, well-being and success of children, youth and families, offering programming on food security, healthy eating, community engagement and family support.
In the release, the credit union said a key initiative of Our Children Our Future is the Healthy Food for Kids program, which provides nutritious food to children and families experiencing food insecurity.
“We are incredibly grateful for community investments that help us continue supporting children and families facing food insecurity,” said Sierra Pothier, director of finance and corporate services for Our Children Our Future, in the news release. “This $7,500 donation towards our Healthy Food for Kids program and the purchase of our outreach vehicle will have a direct and lasting impact on our ability to deliver nutritious food, expand outreach into rural and underserved communities, and ensure more children have access to the resources they need to thrive.
“Reliable transportation is essential to our work, and securing this vehicle will strengthen our ability to serve families across Greater Sudbury for years to come. Thank you for helping us make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in need.”
The previous recipients of anniversary donations of $7,500 each were:

- March: Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers
- April: Onaping Falls Curling Club
- May: Sudbury Food Bank
