Convention 2026: Jeff DiMatteo Inducted as ACA’s New President

At ACA’s Convention & Expo in Orlando, DiMatteo took the stage at Friday’s closing celebration to begin his term as president, cheered on by friends, family and peers.

The final day of ACA International’s Convention & Expo in Orlando last week was packed with education sessions and networking opportunities. In the evening, attendees gathered for the closing reception to celebrate the induction of the association’s new officers to the board of directors.

ACA’s 2026/27 Board of Directors:

The closing celebration was emceed by 2008/09 President Jay Gonsalves and featured speeches from several of DiMatteo’s peers, as well as letters from bipartisan members of Congress wishing him well and acknowledging ACA’s critical role in the U.S. economy.

“I can tell you, for the last 10 years or so that I’ve worked with Jeff, I have the utmost confidence in recommending and endorsing him as the leader of this association because I’ve seen firsthand the work that he’s done,” Gonsalves said.

In honor of DiMatteo’s hobby of collecting sports cards, 2019/20 President Roger Weiss presented him with a 1989 Fleer baseball card of the Orioles’ Billy Ripken — famously known as the “error card.” And 2023/24 President David Williams gave him a New England Patriots Drake Maye rookie card, telling DiMatteo, “He’s taken New England to the Super Bowl, and you’re going to take us to Super Bowls with this association.”

At the podium, DiMatteo shared details about ACA’s Reputation Management Task Force that launched last month, which is charged with protecting and advancing the reputation of the credit and collection industry. DiMatteo emphasized that now is the right moment for this initiative.

“Three years ago, if somebody said you’re going to get a five-star Google review from a consumer whose bill you helped resolve, that would have been unthinkable,” he said. “Well, this industry — the people in this room — is now generating thousands of them every year.”

He told the audience: “I’m so excited for the next year. I’m eager to get to work with officers Tim Collins and John Bedard, as well as the whole board. You have great people representing you. I’m committed to the industry, committed to this great association, and most of all, committed to you — the community that we have built.”
