Kastle’s AI workforce has processed more than $2 billion in payments while giving lenders and servicers compliance oversight across every customer interaction
Kastle, the AI workforce platform for financial services, has raised a $24 million Series A led by Insight Partners. Existing investors Y Combinator and Commerce Ventures continued their participation, while Fifth Wall and a group of prominent founders and financial-services executives joined as new investors.
The company will use the funding to expand its platform and accelerate deployments across North America, with a continued focus on consumer lending operations and other highly regulated core-banking workflows.
Collections organizations face a difficult mandate: manage enormous volumes of customer interactions, improve recovery outcomes, support borrowers experiencing financial hardship, and comply with a complex web of federal and state requirements. At the same time, many institutions remain dependent on fragmented technology and core systems that were never designed for AI.
Kastle offers those institutions a faster path forward. Its specialized AI agents perform collections and servicing work inside the systems lenders already use, allowing organizations to adopt AI without first undertaking a costly, multiyear replacement of their existing infrastructure.
The model is already operating at scale. Kastle powers work across some of the largest enterprises and banks in the world, and its agents have processed more than $2 billion in payments.
AI agents built to complete collections work
Kastle describes its agents as AI full-time employees rather than chatbots or assistants. They retain context across a customer’s case and carry work through to completion instead of gathering information and returning the account to a servicing queue.
Within collections and servicing, Kastle’s agents can accept payments, resolve or restructure payment arrangements, collect borrower documentation, update systems of record, and escalate cases when a consumer reports hardship or asks about loss-mitigation options.
The agents operate across voice, SMS, email, chat, and API-based channels. This gives lenders and servicers one platform for coordinating customer interactions throughout the account lifecycle while keeping their existing systems current.
Kastle’s broader platform also supports loan origination, fulfillment, servicing, and compliance quality control, from a borrower’s first inquiry through final payment.
Compliance built into the work
For collections leaders, the technology underlying the agents is as important as the customer-facing experience.
Kastle’s compliance engine is designed around requirements including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices, Truth in Lending Act, and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. Those requirements serve as operating constraints for the agents, rather than criteria applied only during a retrospective review.
The platform evaluates every interaction instead of relying on a small sample of calls. Its quality-assurance capabilities cover work handled by both AI agents and human representatives across voice and digital channels, with real-time monitoring and automated scorecards.
Kastle also maintains a record of the reasoning behind agent responses, allowing an institution to reconstruct what occurred and why an action was taken. Before updated behavior reaches a consumer, the platform tests policy and script changes against recorded scenarios and edge cases.
Together, these controls are designed to give compliance teams greater visibility into customer treatment while enabling operations teams to scale. Kastle is SOC 2 Type II certified.
“Financial institutions do not need another layer of software that creates more work for their teams. They need AI that can reliably complete the work while ensuring compliance,” said Rebecca Liu-Doyle, Managing Director at Insight Partners. “Kastle deploys AI agents that can navigate complexity, pass the bar on regulatory rigor, and get high-stakes work done without waiting for a multiyear transformation.”
A new operating model for collections
Kastle is designed to enable hybrid teams in which AI agents absorb high-volume, repeatable work while experienced employees concentrate on sensitive or complex cases requiring judgment, empathy, negotiation, and relationships.
Human oversight remains part of the operating model, but its focus shifts. Rather than manually processing every routine interaction, employees can supervise the work at scale, intervene when necessary, and devote more attention to borrowers who need individualized support.
“For years, enterprises have effectively been presented with a false choice: accept the limitations of legacy operations or endure a long and risky replacement of the systems at the heart of their business,” said Rishi Choudhary, Co-Founder and CEO of Kastle. “Kastle creates a third path. We give institutions an AI workforce that can operate across the systems they already have, complete high-volume collections work, and provide the oversight that regulated environments demand.”
The new investment will support the expansion of Kastle’s product, engineering, and go-to-market teams; deepen its collections and compliance capabilities; and bring its AI workforce to more lenders, servicers, and financial institutions.
