Bay Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the appointment of Amanda Gamban as its new Community Engagement Manager. With more than eight years of experience in the social impact sector, Ms. Gamban brings expertise in program design, marketing, communications, fundraising, event management, and community-based organizing to her new role.

Ms. Gamban previously served as Program and Communications Manager at United Way of Santa Cruz County, where she designed and piloted innovative programs, led flagship community events such as Stuff the Bus and the United in Purpose Annual Celebration & Awards, and oversaw the organization’s communications strategy. She also brings valuable experience from her fellowship with MCE Social Capital, where she supported impact measurement and evaluation processes to expand access to banking services and microloans for unbanked communities.

A proud Central Coast native, Ms. Gamban holds a Master of Public Administration and Social Change from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a Minor in Human Rights from the University of California, Davis, and three Associate degrees from Cabrillo College in International Studies, Spanish, and Liberal Arts.

Passionate about community engagement both professionally and personally, Ms. Gamban volunteers as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and supports The Tobera Project in Watsonville, including its annual Filipino American History Month Festival. In her free time, she enjoys playing in a co-ed adult soccer league with her college friends, traveling, and spending time with her family—especially in her role as a proud auntie.

“I’m honored to serve as the new Community Engagement Manager for Bay Federal Credit Union and to lead our development and outreach strategies with the communities we serve,” said Ms. Gamban. “Being born and raised on the Central Coast, it’s especially meaningful to continue my career and build connections in the places I love and call home.”

In her new role, Ms. Gamban will focus on strengthening Bay Federal’s community partnerships, expanding outreach initiatives, and supporting the credit union’s mission of making a real difference in the financial lives of its members and the communities it serves.
