Bellco now serves more than 7,000 members in El Paso County. Its 30 Colorado branches are located across the state, mostly along the Front Range from Pueblo to Timnath and Fort Collins, with two locations on the Western Slope.

The credit union began expanding into southern Colorado last summer, when it opened its first Pueblo location in July.

More locations are coming in Colorado, the company said in a Thursday email.

Bellco plans to open its second Springs branch at 5495 N. Academy Blvd. this summer. It also anticipates opening a new branch in Firestone in Weld County and will relocate to a new full-service location in Longmont, both planned for early 2027.

Bellco Credit Union was founded in 1936. It is the second-largest credit union in Colorado with more than 368,000 members and over $8.5 billion in assets.

Several Colorado credit unions have announced mergers or expansions in Colorado Springs within the last two years. Ent Credit Union, based in the city, officially merged with Minnesota-based Wings Credit Union on Jan. 1. The combined credit union is transitioning to the Wings Credit Union name.

Arvada-based Climb Credit Union opened its newly built Colorado Springs branch on the city’s north side in September. Earlier this month, the credit union announced members of Commerce City-based Community Choice Credit Union voted to approve a merger of the two. The combined organization, also official as of Jan. 1, is operating under the Climb Credit Union name.

“Bellco Credit Union, the second-largest credit union in Colorado, is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. Bellco stands out by focusing on financial stability, community commitment and serving its members’ unique needs,” Bellco said by email Thursday. “We prioritize strategic growth in areas where we can best meet member needs. This focus on longevity, reliability and member trust helps us remain competitive in Colorado Springs and across the state.”
