Connecticut credit unions Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union and CrossPoint Federal Credit Union have completed their merger, creating a combined institution serving about 65,000 members in the state. The merger adds CrossPoint’s branches and members to Nutmeg’s existing footprint, expanding Nutmeg’s reach and branch network.
Who merged
-
Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union, based in the Hartford-area community of Glastonbury, is the surviving institution in the deal.
-
CrossPoint Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Hamden, has been merged into Nutmeg, bringing its members and branches under the Nutmeg brand.
Size and membership
-
Together, the two credit unions now serve roughly 65,000 members across Connecticut, making the combined institution one of the larger credit unions in the state.
-
The transaction also increases Nutmeg’s physical presence by four additional branch locations, enhancing access for members in the New Haven and central Connecticut areas.
Impact on members and branches
-
Members of the former CrossPoint Federal Credit Union will now be Nutmeg members, with access to Nutmeg’s broader range of products, services, and digital banking options, subject to systems integration timelines.
-
Existing CrossPoint branches are expected to remain open under Nutmeg, at least initially, to provide continuity of service while operations and branding are fully integrated.
