Customers reported that money seemingly vanished. The credit union says that money actually didn’t leave accounts.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Many customers of Robins Financial Credit Union faced a confusing situation on Wednesday: money in their account seemingly disappeared.

But according to the credit union, it was just a technical glitch.

“We experienced unplanned system outages yesterday that may have temporarily impacted access to account balances and other services,” according to an alert on their website.

The glitch caused concern among many customers, noticing anywhere from a few cents missing to larger sums seemingly vanishing overnight.

Senior Vice President for Strategy Amy Etheridge told 13WMAZ that no funds actually left any customer accounts. She says it was simply technology problems between two of their technology vendors.

The credit union says things are working normally Thursday morning.

“Please rest assured that the issues have been fully resolved, and all systems are now operating normally,” the credit union wrote in a Facebook post.

Peach County Sheriff Robert Buck Shannon says he had funds seemingly missing from his account.

“To my community, apologies in advance,” Shannon said. “If you’re in line in the morning I’m going to push my weight around as Sheriff… I’ve been asleep and I have not used my card.”

He told 13WMAZ that the funds were returned to his balance by around 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

But other customers echoed Shannon’s experience, saying they too saw funds missing in their accounts.

To my community apologies in advance. If you’re in line in the morning I’m going to push my weight around as Sheriff….

One person said that they saw $170 missing from their accounts or unexpected pending charges showing.

But Robins Financial Credit Union says that the situation has been resolved.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” the credit union said in their statement.
