Gesa Credit Union’s recent Holiday Giving Campaign collected more than 900 toys and provided gifts to 43 families, reaching a total of 187 people across Washington and North Idaho.

What the campaign did

  • The campaign ran from Nov. 17 to Dec. 12 and combined a toy drive with an adopt-a-familyinitiative at Gesa’s 45 branch locations.

  • Community members donated new, unused toys in-branch, while Gesa employees shopped for and delivered gifts to families identified by partner nonprofits.

Scale and impact

  • In total, more than 900 toys were collected, supporting 43 families and 187 individuals, described as “nearly 200 people” in regional coverage.

  • In the Tri-Cities area alone, 327 toys were donated, highlighting strong local participation in the broader regional effort.

Community and employee involvement

  • A total of 173 Gesa team members volunteered time to shop for age-appropriate gifts, essential items, and holiday surprises for the adopted families.

  • Gesa leaders emphasized that member donations and staff volunteering reflected the community spirit the credit union aims to foster during the holidays.

Nonprofit partners

  • Gesa partnered with four nonprofits: Communities In Schools of Washington, Triumph Community Services (sometimes referenced as Triumph Foundation), The Forgotten Children’s Fund, and Canopy Services.

  • These organizations work year-round to support families facing economic challenges through educational resources, essentials, and other social services, with the holiday campaign amplifying that support.
