7 Strategies to Improve your Basic Financial Literacy - Launch Digital FreedomGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4) — Fifth Third Bank and the Fifth Third Foundation have teamed up with Grand Valley State University to benefit REP4®FinLit, a new student financial literacy program designed for Gen Z.

“We understand that financial literacy is important,” Marcus Jackson, community impact manager at Fifth Third Bank, said. “What better way to invest in our youth than partnering with a university, especially a great university like Grand Valley State University.”

Using custom digital tools and interactive quizzes, REP4®FinLit provides Gen Z college students with personalized, peer-to-peer financial literacy education.

Fifth Third Bank and the Fifth Third Foundation have teamed up with Grand Valley State University to benefit REP4®FinLit, a new student financial literacy program designed for Gen Z.

“Students are going to respond to this because it’s made by students for students,” Joy Murerwa, REP4®FinLit team member and GVSU student, said.

A program from Rapid Education Prototyping, or REP4, Grand Valley State University looks forward to more students getting involved with REP4®FinLit and its student team.

“(We) work with students to help them pitch ideas to make higher education better,” Michelle Walters, program director of REP4®FinLit at Grand Valley State University, said.

In 2024, a nearly $2 million grant was awarded to REP4®FinLit from the Fifth Third Foundation to enhance growth.
