JCB’s Contactless Payment Now Available on Shanghai and Beijing Subways

JCB has launched a service allowing passengers to use JCB contactless payment for subway rides in Shanghai and Beijing.

This is the first implementation of JCB’s contactless payment in mainland China’s public transportation systems. Passengers can use their JCB contactless-enabled cards or smartphones to tap and pay at automatic ticket gates.

The applicable networks and stations include all 21 lines and 517 stations of the Shanghai Metro, as well as all 29 lines and 523 stations of the Beijing Subway.
