The Calhoun County Treasurer’s Office said they identified a technical error while uploading the 2025 Homer Village delinquent tax records.
HOMER, Mich. — Every property owner in the Village of Homer received a notice that they were delinquent on their property taxes, regardless of their payment status, according to Calhoun County officials.
The Calhoun County Treasurer’s Office said they identified a technical error while uploading the 2025 Homer Village delinquent tax records. The error resulted in every property owner within the village incorrectly receiving a notice that they were delinquent on their property taxes.
The treasurer’s office said that property owners who have already paid their 2025 Homer Village taxes on time should disregard the notice.
“We understand that receiving this type of notice can be concerning,” said Melinda Weaver, Calhoun County Treasurer. “We want to assure residents that this was a clerical error, and we are taking immediate steps to correct the records and issue accurate information.”
Any residents or property owners with questions or concerns about the notice can contact the Calhoun County Treasurer’s Office at 269-781-0807 or treasurerstaff@calhouncountymi.gov.
The treasurer’s office said they are working with the software vendor to “resolve the issue and prevent similar errors in the future.”
