A Norfolk bank is open for business with a new name.

Security First Bank has officially completed its acquisition of 11 Nebraska branch locations from First Interstate Bank and is open in each community as of Monday, according to a press release.

The transition marks an expansion of Security First Bank’s presence across Nebraska, adding locations in Alliance, Atkinson, Broken Bow, Burwell, Callaway, McCook, Norfolk, O’Neill, Ord, Scottsbluff and Sidney. These branches are now operating as Security First Bank, continuing to serve customers and local communities.

“We are pleased to welcome these customers and communities to Security First Bank,” said Gregory Hunter, chief executive officer. “This transition represents an important step in our continued growth across Nebraska, and our focus remains on providing dependable service, local decision-making and strong community relationships.”

Founded in 1898, Security First Bank is a Nebraska-based, community-focused financial institution with a long-standing commitment to relationship banking. The bank offers a full range of personal and business banking services, including checking and savings accounts, agricultural and commercial lending, mortgage services, online and mobile banking and business service solutions. Each branch is locally managed, allowing teams to make decisions that best serve their customers and communities.

“We are proud to continue serving the Norfolk community as Security First Bank,” branch president Michelle Merchant said. “Our team remains committed to providing the same personal service customers expect, along with products, services and local decision-making to support individuals, families and businesses in the area.”
