WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – Numerica Credit Union and Swigg Coffee Bar raised $5,000 for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho with their “Coffee for a Cause” fundraiser. This event marks its third year supporting the Girl Scouts.

Abby Runner from the Girl Scouts expressed gratitude for the partnership.

“We are so thankful to Swigg Coffee Bar and Numerica Credit Union for doing this for the third year in a row,” she said.

For every beverage purchased this week, $1 was donated to the Girl Scouts. Friday, May 16 marked the final day of the promotion. The funds raised will help send girls to camp, offering experiences they might not otherwise afford.

“It’s just a huge support, a huge boost to help get girls to camp that maybe otherwise couldn’t afford it,” Runner added.

The Girl Scouts focus on building courage, confidence, and character in young women through entrepreneurship, life skills, STEM, and outdoor activities.

“The best way for them to get that outdoors experience is going to camp, trying new things, making new friends,” Runner stated.

Swigg Coffee Bar provides an opportunity for the community to support this cause. Each purchase made during the week of May 12 through May 16 contributes to the Girl Scouts, aiding their mission to empower young girls in the region.
