Payfinia and CU*SOUTH Partner to Expand Embedded Payment Capabilities for Credit Unions

Payfinia and CUSOUTH have formed a strategic partnership to give CUSOUTH client credit unions access to Payfinia’s instant payments and embedded digital wallet stack, delivered through existing cores and digital banking channels.

What the partnership does

• CU*SOUTH credit unions will be able to use Payfinia’s Instant Payment Xchange (IPX) to send and receive real-time payments over both the FedNow Service and the RTP Network.​

• The integration is designed to work inside credit unions’ current core and digital banking environments, enabling real-time account‑to‑account payments for consumers and businesses without a full payments replatform.​

Embedded wallets and member experience

• Payfinia will provide an “embedded” digital wallet suite that is branded to the credit union, intended to deepen member engagement and open new fee and interchange revenue streams.​

• These wallet capabilities ride on existing digital banking channels, aiming to give members faster, app‑native money movement experiences that match big‑bank and fintech offerings.

Strategic implications for CUs

• CU*SOUTH positions this as a scalability and competitiveness play, letting mid‑size and smaller credit unions offer real‑time payments and digital wallets while staying aligned with cooperative principles and cost constraints.
