The Florida Collectors Association (FCA) and the Georgia Collectors Association (GCA) have demonstrated the debt collection industry’s continued commitment to community outreach, raising a combined $5,160 in support of The Children’s Hunger Project. The funds will help provide weekend meals to food-insecure elementary school children, ensuring consistent access to nutrition outside of school hours.

The fundraising effort reflects a growing trend among regional collection associations to align professional engagement with charitable initiatives. Through member contributions, event-based fundraising, and coordinated outreach, both FCA and GCA mobilized their networks to support a cause that directly impacts vulnerable communities across the Southeast.

The Children’s Hunger Project, a nonprofit organization focused on addressing childhood hunger, distributes pre-packaged “food packs” to students identified by schools as being at risk of weekend hunger. These packs are designed to be child-friendly, easy to prepare, and sufficient to bridge the gap between school-provided meals.

Industry leaders from both associations emphasized the importance of giving back as part of the profession’s broader mission. Beyond compliance and operational excellence, many agencies are increasingly prioritizing corporate social responsibility and community involvement as core components of their organizational values.

“This effort highlights the positive impact our industry can make when we come together for a common cause,” one association representative noted. “Supporting children and families in need is something that resonates deeply with our members.”

The joint fundraising success also underscores the collaborative relationship between state-level associations, which continue to play a vital role in advocacy, education, and professional development within the credit and collection space.

As economic pressures persist for many households, initiatives like this serve as a reminder that industry organizations can extend their influence beyond financial services, contributing meaningful support to the communities they serve.
