The Sioux City Community School District is in the process of working out an agreement with the NCS agency; as of now, an agreement is not in place.

In August the Sioux City School Board approved Associate Superintendent Angela Bemus’ recommendation of using the NCS collection agency to collect student lunch debt.

Currently the school district has a balance of $33,306.13 in student lunch debt, with 74 students owing more than $300.

Board approval is required before an agreement can be finalized; there is no timeframe for when the agreement will go to the board for approval.
