RMAi-Certified Debt BuyerA former employee, who quietly returned money she stole from an Idaho credit union branch before an audit, was banned from working at a state-chartered credit union, according to the Idaho Department of Finance.
Macey L. Wymore stole more than $63,000 from a Lewiston branch of the $14.9 billion Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU), which is headquartered in Chubbuck.
Wymore’s theft was apparently revealed when she stole $23,000 on June 3, 2024, and “stealthily returned the funds to ICCU the following day while participating in an audit,” according to the Idaho Department of Finance in Boise.
She was fired days later on June 14.
From Dec. 7, 2023 to June 7, 2024, Wymore used her access to the branch’s money order recycler machine, cash drawer and vault to embezzle the funds. An investigation was launched after multiple audits revealed shortages of cash from the vault and the cash recycler, attorneys for the state’s regulator said.
