Data Breach 2025 List By State - Misty J Waddy

Virginia-headquartered debt collection firm R&B Corporation of Virginia, doing business as Credit Control Corporation (CCC) has denied they are involved in any data breach incident. The debt collection firm was accused by hackers who posted information on a popular data leak forum. The company which had a data leak issue in 2023, adamantly denies the recent accusation and states “While CCC encountered a minor data breach in 2023 from a foreign actor, the situation was addressed and remedied at that time. CCC is not currently the subject of any data breach or security incident,” said Richard J. Perr, Esquire, Co-Managing Partner of Kaufman Dolowich LLP the legal firm that represents R&B.

Perr continued, “Moreover, the purported data referenced in the article does not belong to CCC. It has no business in the mortgage or loan space and its collection portfolio hardly approaches the 9.1 million accounts referenced in the article.” “Credit Control Corporation takes its data security very seriously. It maintains a stellar reputation in the collection industry and adheres to all federal and state laws and regulations.”
