What TruLookup for Real Estate is
TruLookup for Real Estate is a purpose-built solution delivered as a mobile-first application for agents, brokers, and other real estate professionals. It is designed to replace the common patchwork of multiple databases and apps that agents use today for ownership research, safety checks, and lead generation.
Core capabilities
TransUnion highlights four main use cases in the product:
-
Validate ownership: Confirm legal property ownership before listing or engaging, using TransUnion’s data to help deter listing fraud.
-
Personal safety check: Use a prospect’s phone number to review identity attributes and assess potential risk indicators before in‑person meetings.
-
Property contact: Instantly locate phone, email, and postal address information for owners of unlisted properties.
-
Prospecting lists: Build phone, email, and direct mail lists based on geography and a configurable radius for “circle prospecting” campaigns.
All of these workflows are delivered through one mobile app rather than separate tools.
Data & platform underpinnings
TruLookup for Real Estate is powered by TransUnion’s OneTru platform, which supports a persistent, connected view of consumer identity across use cases. The app essentially packages TransUnion’s fraud, identity, and contact intelligence data into real estate–specific workflows for field use.
Importantly, TransUnion explicitly notes that TruLookup for Real Estate is not a “consumer report” under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). That positioning keeps it focused on fraud prevention, safety, and prospecting, as opposed to credit‑eligibility determinations governed by FCRA.
Availability and access
TransUnion announced TruLookup for Real Estate on March 23–24, 2026, with public communications going out via its newsroom and market wires. The company says the app will be available in early April 2026 and will be accessed through participating real estate associations and brokerages rather than as a direct-to-consumer download.
