VyStar Credit Union hosts shredding event to help prevent fraud and identity theft

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – VyStar Credit Union is hosting an event to protect locals from identity theft and fraud.

Shred to Protect Day is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Gainesville Branch, located at 3616 S.W. 34th St. This is a free event where residents can come and safely get rid of sensitive documents.

VyStar Credit Union is hosting this event in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Mu Upsilon Omega Chapter. Professional shredding services will be offered for the documents.

Acceptable items for shredding include old bank statements, credit card bills, medical records, and any documents with identifiable information.
